WEF Annual Gala

Today marks the midpoint of the second academic trimester. Students are busy reading, writing, figuring and thinking critically under the direction of the expert faculty here in the Wyckoff schools.  January is New Jersey’s School Board Recognition Month, and it is a good opportunity to thank a trustee for their volunteer service to our students, staff and families. We appreciate the support of our Board of Education and the entire Wyckoff community. A special shout out to our police as well, who regularly patrol our schools for the safety of our students and staff. Pictured above is Wyckoff Police Officer Ferreira at George Washington School this week. Our Connected Parent Series continues on February 9 with a K-2 Literacy Seminar. For registration details and to see all offerings in the 2023 series, visit the Connected Parent Series page on our website.

Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2023 school year is now open. Enrollment for our free, full-day program is open to Wyckoff children who turn 5 by October 1st. Check out our registration page to get your documents ready and register.

Summer Academies Announced

The 2023 Wyckoff Summer Academies program was approved by the school board this week. Registration and specific program information will be released shortly. The program will run during the month of July, and is offered to WSD students entering grades K-7. Stay tuned for registration dates and details.

Student Musicians Visit NYC and FLOW Festival

WSD student musicians have unique opportunities this winter to view and participate in outside performances. Elementary instrumentalists across the district set out on a field trip to Lincoln Center this week to participate in an interactive performance of the NY Philharmonic Orchestra. Our middle school musicians will have the opportunity to play in the annual FLOW Music Festival next month at the Ramapo-Indian Hills Regional School District. The seventh and eighth grade chorus, and eighth grade band and chorus will travel to the two high schools next month on three different dates to join their high school peers on the stage and play together for a student audience. These events serve as a fitting culminating experience for our WSD musicians after performing their own winter concerts for parents and peers this month.

WSD Partners with Wyckoff Library for Teen Reading Challenge

The Wyckoff Public Library has issued a Teen Reading Challenge for students in grades 6 and up. This event runs through the end of February and calls on teens to submit book reviews of the books they’ve been reading and complete various activities for chances to earn badges, rewards, and raffle prizes. Students can register for the challenge at wyckofflibrary.org
