1st graders at public library

The third and final i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment will take place during the week of April 6th. Leading up to this assessment, teachers have been identifying specific student needs and using the data from past assessments to set goals, differentiate instruction, and implement targeted small-group and personalized interventions. Data received from the April diagnostic will allow teachers to identify and set goals for the remainder of the school year for their students.

Coolidge School is celebrating “Music in Our Schools” month during March. Back by popular demand, Mr. Cosman is hosting Name That Song during morning announcements on the last five days of March. A selection of a song is played, and whichever class is caller number 7 wins. The class that wins each day will not only earn bragging rights, but will also receive one of the five handmade Golden Tickets from the musical!

Parents are invited to check out our April Specialist Newsletter, which includes news from our special area classes. I  hope you enjoy the photos and enjoy reading about all of the great learning experiences taking place in these classes!

To support our first-grade study of community helpers, last week, students enjoyed a special visit from some of our Wyckoff community helpers. Students got a first-hand tour of a Wyckoff police car, ambulance, and DPW trucks. Earlier in the day, students took a field trip to the Wyckoff Public Library, where they visited with the children’s librarian and received their own library cards. Thank you to all of the Wyckoff community members!

AUDIO BOOKS FOR THE MEDIA CENTER- MESSAGE FROM MRS. HAN

Due to the generosity of the Wyckoff Education Foundation, the Coolidge Media Center now provides students with portable audiobooks. Playaway is a small and simple way to listen to an audiobook on the go. Playaway is battery-powered (no internet connection necessary) and can be plugged into headphones to enjoy listening to a book at the push of a button. Students in grades 2-5 had a chance to use Playaway in the media center to practice using and caring for it. If you permit your child to take out a Playaway audiobook, you must complete this permission slip. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Han.

What is provided:

- Playaway in the case

Who can check out Playaway:
