Dear Wyckoff School District Families,

These first two months of the school year have gone quickly, and students are working hard under the expert teaching of the WSD faculty to master new content and skills. The Wyckoff-Midland Park Rotary Club distributed free dictionaries to our third graders this week, assisted by Mrs. Dobson’s and Mr. Deloughry’s middle school students in the EMS React Club. The PTO hosted a parent seminar on Magma Math on Wednesday and has been generously running harvest festivals, book fairs, and picture days. The Wyckoff police and fire departments visited our elementary schools this month for School Violence Awareness Week and Fire Prevention Week, teaching students tips to stay safe. We greatly appreciate the community support. The EMS soccer teams played hard this season. Best of luck to the boys’ team as they head to the playoffs in Upper Saddle River on Monday.

Invitation to Strategic Planning Session #2

Thank you to all who came out to our first Strategic Planning forum on the 12th. All members of the WSD community are invited to the second session on November 2nd at 7 p.m. at Eisenhower Middle School. To register, please complete the form on our website at wyckoffps.org. The third and final session is scheduled for November 30. These sessions provide an opportunity for WSD staff and families to come together as a community to discuss our goals for the future of our schools.

Upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences

Schools will be closed all day on November 6th and in the afternoon on November 13th for parent-teacher conferences. Elementary conference time sign-up times were posted on October 13th. Middle school progress reports are available to view in Genesis today at 3 p.m.; conferences are offered to parents of middle school students whose progress reports indicate academic concerns or upon parent request.

Special Education Parent Group

The first meeting of the year for the Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) last week was well-attended and productive. The purpose of the group is to discuss district-wide special education programs and practices, provide information and support for parents, and promote inclusion and acceptance of all children. To view future meeting dates and to register, visit our website at wyckoffps.org

Thank you for your continued support of our schools as we work together to create a bright future for all of our students.

Sincerely,

Kerry L. Postma, Ed.D.
