Dear Sicomac Families,

Our first full week at Sicomac School is in the books, and we are ready for more! Thank you to all of our families for helping your children ease back into their routines and arrive ready to learn each day. It was great to see so many of you at our Newcomer's Social and our first PTO meeting. The energy in the building is incredible and we are just getting started.

In class, we have established our routines and we are into our first units of study. This week I had the pleasure of visiting classrooms and spending plenty of time with our Sicomac Eagles at lunch and recess. I am so proud of our hardworking teachers and staff, and I am looking forward to an amazing year ahead.

2026-2027 Sicomac School Theme

Our theme this year is "Together We Soar." Selected by our staff, it reflects our commitment to inclusivity and interdependence. We will weave this message into our daily activities and use it to teach meaningful lessons throughout the year. It truly captures the spirit of our work with our students, staff, and families.

Pinpointing Needs

This week, students in grades 1 through 5 participated in our first benchmark assessments of the year. These assessments are not graded, but produce data that helps drive instructional decisions in the classroom. Teachers use this data to plan for small groups and target gaps in learning. I use the data to identify trends across our school and identify our strengths and areas where more support is needed. When the assessment window closes you will receive an email about accessing your child's score report and instructions on how you can interpret the results.

Safety

Please keep the upper loop parking area clear for buses and pre-school arrival and dismissal. Thank you for helping to keep our school safe and running smoothly. We appreciate your cooperation.

Milk

Our district will again use an online milk payment method. Payment must be made using PaySchools Central, or by check. If you are not already registered for PaySchools Central, you may do so by logging on to www.payschoolscentral.com and selecting “Register” and following the prompts. Please note that you will need your child’s 6-digit Student ID#, which is located on the Parent Portal in Genesis next to your child’s picture. If you have difficulty logging on to the Genesis Parent Portal, please contact the Genesis Helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org. We will also accept checks for payment that can be sent in through the school to the front office and made out to the Wyckoff Board of Education. Milk is offered to grades K-5 daily. You can purchase milk for the entire year. Milk options are 1%, skim, and chocolate.  Please indicate your choice. Milk will begin Tuesday, September 22nd. The total cost is: $110.00 for the school year. The deadline to order milk will be Wednesday, September 16th. Fees may apply for credit card and checking account transactions. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Dies by calling the main office or reaching out at sdies@wyckoffschools.org.
