Lincoln Logo

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are off and running at Lincoln School, as we had a terrific first week. I have been able to visit each classroom multiple times throughout the week, as well as spend time with students at lunch and recess. I am so pleased with our wonderful start to the year, and I am grateful for our hardworking staff, our supportive families, and our engaged students.

As a reminder, our annual Back to School Night has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 15th. We invite you to join us for our classroom visits, whole-school presentation, and a special area open house. Please see the schedule below, and note the times for our Gr. K-2 and 3-5 visits for this year:

6:30 pm - 7:10 pm - Grades 3-5 Classroom Presentations

Grades K-2 Special Area Open House

7:15 pm - 7:45 pm - Whole school presentation by Mr. Lee - Gymnasium

7:50 pm - 8:30 pm - Grades K-2 Classroom Presentations

Grades 3-5 Special Area Open House

Tuesday, September 22nd is School Photo Day at Lincoln. We look forward to seeing all of our students looking their best and smiling for the camera! A schedule for Photo Day and flyer from Rod Bolten Photography will follow in next week's e-blast.

Our district will again use an online milk payment method. Payment must be made using PaySchools Central, or by check. If you are not already registered for PaySchools Central, you may do so by logging on to www.payschoolscentral.com and selecting “Register” and following the prompts. Please note that you will need your child’s 6-digit Student ID#, which is located on the Parent Portal in Genesis next to your child’s picture. If you have difficulty logging on to the Genesis Parent Portal, please contact the Genesis Helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org. We will also accept checks for payment that can be sent in through the school to the front office and made out to the Wyckoff Board of Education. Milk is offered to grades K-5 daily. You can purchase milk for the entire year. Milk options are 1%, skim, and chocolate.  Please indicate your choice. Milk will begin Tuesday, September 22nd. The total cost is: $110.00 for the school year. The deadline to order milk will be Wednesday, September 16th. Fees may apply for credit card and checking account transactions. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Crank at 201-848-5720 X 2202, or jcrank@wyckoffschools.org.

Thank you to all those that attended our first PTO meeting on Thursday, September 10th. It was a great turnout, and we hope to see many of you at our next meeting, scheduled for October 8th. The connection between our families and the school is critical to our students’ success, and I am so grateful for the support and collaboration of our PTO. Please join us in October!

Please note that PTO Bagel Lunch will start on Monday, September 14th, Pizza Lunch will begin on Wednesday, September 16th, and Jersey Mike’s Lunch will start on Thursday, September 17th.

Our online "Friday Folder" is a depository of important notices, flyers, and letters from the school and Wyckoff community. Please be sure to check the list of Friday Folder documents, which is included in each weekly E-Blast, and carefully read those that are pertinent to you and your child(ren). There is a link in each E-Blast to the electronic Friday Folder, which can also be accessed at any time through the Lincoln School website. If you need hard copies of any document on the Friday Folder, do not hesitate to reach out to the front office and we will be happy to print them for you.

If you have not accessed important forms via Genesis, please access the Parent Portal by clicking here. Contact the Genesis Helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org with any difficulties.

As sent in a previous email from Mrs. Husstege, Bookends Bookstore has helped us arrange an exciting experience for our students to kick off our school year of reading. Families have the opportunity to preorder Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man: A Sprinkle in Time, Book 15 in the Dog Man series. Our students will also get to enjoy a special Bark to School Assembly featuring a visit from Scholastic’s very own Dog Man. We’re adding a little extra Dog Man fun, too! All students will have a chance to win Dog Man-inspired prizes which will be on display in the library leading up to the event. Books will be delivered on the release date of 11/3/26. The flyer for this event, indicating an ordering deadline of September 15th, may be found here. Purchase the book for $16 via the link here.

Today, in recognition of the 25th anniversary of September 11th, and in honor of Patriot Day, I read a special “Words of Wisdom” as part of the morning announcements. I noted that amidst the difficulties of that day, there were heroes of all kinds that were present - firefighters, police officers, and everyday men and women - who helped one another and exemplified the ideals of courage and community. On behalf of Lincoln School, I am thinking of those in our own community who were affected by the events of September 11th, and as a school we honor and remember those who lost their lives.

For all those observing Rosh Hashanah this weekend, I wish you L’Shanah Tovah.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee

Principal
