Lincoln Logo

Dear Parents/Guardians,

October is in full swing here at Lincoln as we see the leaves changing color and falling, the temperature starting to drop, and the school community adjusting to the 2025-2026 school year. October also means, of course, that the Fall Festival is just around the corner! We welcome students and families to join us on the Lincoln School fields right after school next Friday for the Festival, and enjoy games, a petting zoo, activities, pumpkin raffles, seasonal snacks, and more. Thank you to our amazing PTO for planning what should be a terrific afternoon. Please note that students must be accompanied by a parent or other adult. We hope to see you there!

A “Wyckoff Connected Parent” workshop will be held on October 22nd here at Lincoln School. The workshop, entitled Leaping Forward as Literacy Learners: Supporting your Kindergartener at Home, will be led by Lincoln Reading Specialist Mrs. Barbieri and Lincoln Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Lacasse.  This session is intended for the parents of Kindergarten students looking to support their child’s growth in emergent literacy. Please click here to view the flyer.

The first session of the Wyckoff District PTO Wyckoff Family Connection Series will be held on October 21st at 7pm at Eisenhower Middle School. Please click here for the flyer for this session, and here for a flyer regarding future sessions. The link for signing up for Session #1 may be found here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4AABA72BAAFFC52-59470737-bullying

Our Halloween parade will be held on Friday, October 31st, at 2:30 pm. Parts of the costume that can be safely worn, and allow students to engage in learning, participate in recess/PE, and use the restroom, may be worn to school in the morning. Other costume attachments and accessories, or costumes that cannot be easily and comfortably worn throughout the day, should be brought in a bag and students may change prior to the parade. Please be mindful of appropriate and safe costumes, and note that toy guns, knives, weapons, etc., are not permitted. We hope you can join us for this fun tradition here at Lincoln School!

Classroom teachers will be sending out an email to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences, to be held on November 10th and 17th. If you have not received an email please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher. We look forward to collaborating with parents and families throughout the course of the school year on the progress of your child here at Lincoln School.

I’d like to share just a gentle reminder to please be mindful when you are exiting Lincoln School parking lot to both Mason Avenue and Lucas Lane. With the weather still seasonable, many of our young students and families walk or ride to school. Please drive slowly and carefully, and remain alert for pedestrians. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe!

Finally, I would like to wish a very Happy Diwali to all those in the Lincoln School community who are celebrating next week!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee

Principal
