Dear Lincoln School Community,
Yesterday was an exciting and memorable day at Lincoln School as we celebrated Theme Day! Our halls were transformed into an unbelievable display of what it means to “Be The Change." Students were enthralled by a hot air balloon demonstration and lesson, an engaging game show competition, learning about changemakers throughout history with a living museum, and creating a LEGO mural that will be displayed at Lincoln School as a lasting tribute. They also made cards for people in need and learned more about their donations to “Families for Families,” the organizational recipient of our personal care item drive. Thank you to our Theme Day Chairs, Mrs. Siderias and Mrs. Valik, our Decorations Chairs Mrs. Miano and Mrs. Powers, and our Lunch Chairs Mrs. Caldwell, Mrs. Korinis, and Mrs. Swanson. Thank you also to our many parent volunteers and our school staff for leading our students yesterday. We are already looking forward to Theme Day 2026 and our theme for next year - “Seas” the Day!
Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade band on a terrific spring instrumental concert on Tuesday. Conducted by Mr. Weidman and Mr. Vetrero, our young musicians played a variety of musical selections, and did a wonderful job in both the daytime and evening concert. Thank you to our students for sharing their talents with the Lincoln School community!
Thank you to our PTO for a wonderful end-of-year brunch and celebration this past Thursday. I am grateful for such an amazing and supportive Parent Teacher Organization. The support and collaboration of our families is vital to the success of our students, and I look forward to continuing our partnership in the upcoming school year. Thank you especially to our Executive Board, including PTO President Mrs. Rand, for their steady leadership throughout the year. Finally, congratulations to our Abe Award recipients, Mrs. Greene, Mrs. McGovern and Ms. Sbrocco. We will miss you and your families, and thank you for your support over the years at Lincoln School!
Our Kindergarten celebrations will be held this upcoming week, on the mornings of June 12th and 13th, on the Kindergarten blacktop. We can't wait to celebrate our youngest Lincoln Lions as they prepare to become 1st graders! Please see the times in the "Important Dates" section below.
Our 5th grade families are invited to our "5th Grade Farewell," scheduled for Friday, June 20th, at 9:15 am. This event will be held outside (weather permitting), and we will recognize all of our departing Lincoln Lions with a certificate of appreciation. In addition, several 5th grade awards will be distributed. We look forward to wishing our 5th graders well as they head off to middle school!
