Dear Coolidge School Families,
Looking back on the past week, it is inspiring to see how much our students have accomplished and how brightly our school values are shining. From special events to everyday moments in the classroom, the energy around Coolidge continues to be extraordinary!

☑️Student Council Elections: A huge thank you to Ms. Dulmage and Mrs. Jones for coordinating our Student Council Elections! Congratulations to the many students who ran for an Executive Board position. Their speeches were outstanding, and they are all commended for stepping up, taking a risk, and actively participating in the democratic process at Coolidge School.
Special congratulations to our newly elected President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as our 4th and 5th-grade homeroom representatives!

🌟National Make a Difference Day — Saturday, October 24
National Make a Difference Day is coming up on Saturday, October 24! To mark the occasion, the Wyckoff YMCA has asked for our help collecting handmade cards, notes, and letters for 350+ local Veterans attending the YMCA Veterans Luncheon in early November. Students will be making these cards in class this week. Children are also welcome to make cards at home and bring them in!
National Make a Difference Day is also a great opportunity for families to give back together right from home. Here are meaningful, age-appropriate ways to participate:
Bake or Cook for Local First Responders: Prepare homemade treats, snacks, or a thank-you letter to drop off at your local fire station or police department.
Host a Family "Declutter for Good" Drive: Go room-to-room together gathering gently used coats, shoes, clothes, or toys to donate to a local shelter or donation center.
Neighborhood Clean-Up Walk: Take a walk around your block or local park equipped with gloves and trash bags to collect litter and recyclables.
🎃Halloween Parade — Friday, October 30 at 2:30 PM
We are excited to host our annual Halloween Parade! Please review the guidelines below to ensure a fun and safe celebration for everyone:
Costumes:
Grades K–1: Students may wear their costumes to school in the morning.
Grades 2–5: Students should bring their costumes to school and change after lunch.
Masks: Masks may not be worn inside the school building. They are permitted during the parade itself, provided they do not restrict vision.
Guidelines: Please refrain from violent, gruesome, or vulgar costumes. No toy weapons or prop items are permitted on school grounds.
Spectators & Parade Route:
The parade takes place outdoors along the sidewalk surrounding the school (rain or shine).
Families are warmly invited to watch from the school grounds! Please keep the sidewalk paths clear for our students.
Alternative Activity: Participation in costume/parade activities is entirely optional. An enjoyable alternative activity will be provided for students who choose not to participate.
Classroom Celebrations: Class parents will visit classrooms during the day to host games, activities, or crafts. Please note: No food will be served. In accordance with district policy, parents are asked not to send in treats or goodie bags (edible or non-edible), as teachers are not permitted to distribute them.
