Notes of Gratitude
5th Grade "Words of Wisdom": Fantastic job to our fifth graders, who officially kicked off their morning "Words of Wisdom" announcements this week! Their thoughtful reflections and inspiring daily messages give our entire school community something meaningful to ponder and carry with us throughout the week.
1O's "Bucket Fillers" Bulletin Board: Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of speaking with students about the concept of being a "bucket filler"—someone who lifts others up through kindness and respect. Class 1O took this lesson to heart and created a wonderful bulletin board showcasing all the ways they plan to be bucket fillers this year!
Data Team Collaboration: Our teachers gathered in data teams this week to review student growth, analyze grade-level trends, and strategize ways to support every learner. I am continually impressed by the thoughtfulness, care, and intentionality brought to these collaborative discussions.
Upcoming Events & Announcements
Week of Respect | October 5th–9th
At Coolidge School, promoting respectful behavior is a year-round priority. During the statewide Week of Respect, we take dedicated time to reinforce this core message. Mrs. Ward has organized a series of meaningful learning activities and fun theme/dress-up days throughout the week.
Student Council | Grades 4 & 5
This week, 4th and 5th-grade students attended an informational presentation introducing the Coolidge Student Council, outlining the election process and how to participate:
4th Graders: Eligible to run for Homeroom Class Representative.
5th Graders: Eligible to run for Executive Board officer roles (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer), voted on by the 4th and 5th-grade student body.
Cougar Congress: ALL 4th and 5th-grade students are welcome and encouraged to attend meetings as members of the Cougar Congress, regardless of whether they hold an elected office.
Parents of 4th and 5th graders should check their email for a detailed message and presentation from our Student Council advisors, Mrs. Jones and Ms. Dulmage.
Walk to School Day | Wednesday, October 7th
Join us for Coolidge's Annual Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 7th!
Get Active: Leave the car behind and walk or bike to school to enjoy fresh air, promote health, and help reduce morning traffic.
Special Welcome: Students will be greeted upon arrival by the Coolidge Cougar and festive music to kick off the day!

Please note that you will be asked to enter a "District Report Code" which is provided in the attached instructions.
Kindergarten Families: Kindergarten students will complete their baseline assessment in early October; scores will become available shortly thereafter.
