This week is Computer Science Education Week. We are proud to personalize learning for WSD students using technology and STEM innovation. Next week, the six middle school students who took home awards at last month’s Junior Model UN Conference will be honored at Monday’s school board meeting. The Wyckoff Board of Education will also recognize outgoing trustees Dan McHugh and Tim Murtha for their years of service to the students, staff and families of the Wyckoff School District. We appreciate the leadership of the school board, the dedication of our faculty, and the support of our families in our pursuit of excellence at WSD.

Computer Science Education Week

The second week of December is National Computer Science Education Week. Here at WSD, students celebrated by participating in various computing and STEM activities under the guidance of their classroom teachers and technology teachers. Lessons and activities included the Hour of Code, programming with robotics, block coding, and coding with Scratch.

Second Marking Period Underway

The new marking period began yesterday, with the first trimester of the school year ending on December 7.  Report cards for Trimester 1 will be issued on December 16, 2022.

Holiday Performances Continue

Holiday performances continue across WSD schools throughout this month and next. Sicomac School’s 4th and 5th grade choral concert was held this week, and the remainder of the elementary school performances will be held over the next two weeks. Eisenhower Middle School concerts and band performances are scheduled for January. Check your school’s website for dates and times.

Reminder: NJ Start Strong Assessment Results Coming Soon

Score reports for “Start Strong,” the state assessments taken this fall by students in Grades 4 through 8, will be shipped to districts by the New Jersey Department of Education by December 12. These individual score reports, which indicate a student’s readiness and needed level of support to master state standards in language arts and math, will be mailed home to WSD families by January 12, 2023.
