Next Friday, November 11, is Veterans Day. Our WSD students expressed their gratitude to our local veterans this week (see below), and on behalf of all of Wyckoff School District, we thank these brave men and women for their selfless service to our country. This week, the Wyckoff PTO Coordinating Council hosted a parent seminar featuring Mr. Charlie Wolff, District Security Coordinator for FLOW and Ramapo-Indian Hills Regional School District. Mr. Wolff, who served as a state trooper for 25 years, discussed the role of situational awareness in school safety, and presented information about the social pressures students face as they grow, including parent tips for ensuring youth substance abuse prevention. The PTO will hold their Fall Tailgate party tonight at St. Nicholas Church, and the Wyckoff Education Foundation has opened its annual Thanksgiving pie drive (flyer). Don’t forget to turn your clocks back this weekend and to get out and vote on Tuesday. Best of luck to Coach Cascio and the EMS boys’ soccer team who will face Montvale today in the championship game. Go Generals!

Second Test of Emergency Alert System This Weekend

On Sunday evening, November 6, 2022, at 7:00pm, the Wyckoff School District will repeat the test of its Emergency Alert System. Any parent or staff member that does not receive the test call should alert your school office on Monday so we can update your contact information accordingly.

EMS Boys’ Soccer Team Headed to Championships

The middle school boys’ soccer team, undefeated throughout the season and the playoffs, will play in the league championship game today after school. Congratulations to Coach Cascio and all the players, and good luck to our EMS Generals against Montvale today. Well done to our girls’ team as well, who played hard this season under Coach Boykas. We are proud of our athletic teams for their contributions to WSD's constant pursuit of excellence.

WSD Students Honor Local Veterans

The elementary students at Coolidge and Lincoln schools designed cards for our local veterans, which were presented at the Wyckoff YMCA’s annual Veterans Luncheon on Tuesday. Students expressed their gratitude and admiration for those men and women who have served to protect our country and its allies, and to keep us safe.

EMS React Cub Distributes Dictionaries from Rotary

Today, students in the EMS React Club, a middle school service club affiliated with Rotary International, assisted the Wyckoff-Midland Park Rotarians in distributing dictionaries to every third grader in Wyckoff. This annual gift from the local rotary is one that Wyckoff students look forward to, and promotes a love of learning and an appreciation for service.
