Back to School Night (Sicomac ONLY)

It is our pleasure to welcome parents and guardians into our schools for our Back to School Nights this month. Parents of seventh and eighth graders visited Eisenhower Middle School (EMS) and met with teachers and Mr. Faehndrich this week to learn about the classes and programs that their middle schoolers will experience this school year. The remaining Back to School Night dates are listed above. We encourage parents to come out to the schools and meet our talented faculty as they share their goals for student learning and growth this year.

WEF Donates $20,000 for Robotics and Immersive Technology

The Wyckoff Education Foundation (WEF) generously presented the Board of Education with a check for $20,000 this week. The funds will be divided amongst the five schools and will cover new robotics tools and AR/VR equipment. We value the support of WEF and all of our parent partners as we continue our pursuit of excellence here in the Wyckoff schools.

Extracurricular Offerings Announced

The Wyckoff YMCA is offering on-site after school enrichment classes at each of our elementary schools this fall for a fee. Offerings vary by school and day and may include classes such as art, chess, cooking, and robotics. For more information and to register, visit the Wyckoff YMCA section of our website. At EMS, soccer season is fast approaching - tryouts were held this week, and the first game is September 23. The complete game schedule can be found on the EMS website. As announced on the ETV Eisenhower daily broadcast on YouTube, auditions for the fall play at EMS will be held next week. Additional afterschool clubs for the fall will start up later next month.

Instrumental Teachers Hold Previews

This week, all fourth and fifth graders attended instrument demonstrations led by music teachers Mr. Weidman and Mr. Vetrero. The teachers showcased and explained each instrument that WSD offers to students at the elementary level, to help interested students decide what they might like to learn to play. Instrumental lessons take place during the school day throughout the year, and are taught by Mr. Weidman and Mr. Vetrero at all elementary schools, and by Mr. Sasson and Mr. Salisbury at EMS. Our instrumental program is another example of how WSD personalizes learning for our students.
