April 2026 Message from Dr. Postma

Dear Wyckoff Families,

As we enter the final trimester of the school year, there are many opportunities ahead for continued learning, student engagement, and community connection. April also provides an opportunity to recognize members of our school community, including Paraprofessional (Aide) Appreciation Day on April 1, School Librarian Day on April 4, and Assistant Principals Week next week.

🎤 Parent Seminar

The PTO Coordinating Council is proud to offer the next NJ4S presentation to be held at Eisenhower Middle School on April 14 at 6:30pm with a viewing of Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. It will dive into the challenges families face in this digital age. Parents of students in grades PreK to 8 are welcome; please sign up here

🏆 Student Achievements

Congratulations to our Eisenhower Middle School students for their accomplishments in the recent competitions for the following extra-curricular clubs: FBLA, Model UN, and Battle of the Books. Several students took away awards in various categories at each of the above. Through FBLA, students applied business, finance, and leadership skills in competitive events at the State Leadership Conference at Kean University. In Model UN, students engaged in research, public speaking, and problem-solving while representing countries and addressing global issues at the ROSMUN Conference at Red Oaks Middle School. In Battle of the Books, students demonstrated strong reading comprehension, teamwork, and recall through collaborative competition at the county level. We are extremely proud of our students and also grateful for the guidance of their teachers.

📝 NJSLA Information

The NJSLA testing window will take place next month for students in Grades 3-8. These assessments provide a measure of student progress in ELA and Mathematics. Schools will share specific schedules and details directly with families. We ask that students arrive on time, well-rested, and prepared each day of testing.

🏠 McKinney-Vento Information

Families in temporary housing—doubling up, motels, or without a fixed residence—may be eligible for services like. For more information from the NJ Department of Education or to complete their confidential survey, visit https://www.nj.gov/education/homeless/.

💻 Board Update

The tentative 2026–2027 budget was submitted to the Department of Education last month. The annual public hearing on the budget will take place during the regular Board of Education meeting on May 4

Thank you for your continued support in making Wyckoff Schools a great place for learning and growth.

Sincerely,

Dr. Postma
