March 2026 Message from Dr. Postma

Dear Wyckoff Families,

Today, March 6th, is Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day, a time to recognize the essential staff who keep schools, offices, and facilities safe, clean, and operational. This week is National School Social Work Week, a time to recognize and appreciate the vital role our school social workers play in supporting students' emotional well-being and academic success. Their work helps ensure that every child has the support they need to thrive.

🏀 Celebrating Our Athletics and Academics

Congratulations to the EMS girls' basketball team on their league championship win! The teamwork and dedication of our boys’ and girls’ teams, and the cheerleading squad, were evident throughout the season. A special thank you to coaches Mr. Ciarlo, Mr. Finale, and Ms. Collins for their leadership and commitment.

We are incredibly proud of our EMS Geography Club. Following a recent regional competition, we now have seven students who have qualified for the National Geography Bee in Florida and three who have qualified for the International competition. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of our students and their advisors, Ms. McMillan and Ms. Stoll.

💡 Neurodiversity Celebration Week

National Neurodiversity Celebration Week is March 16–20, 2026. This meaningful week is dedicated to raising awareness, fostering empathy, and embracing the differences that make each of us unique. We are proud to cultivate school communities that are inclusive, supportive, and understanding for all students.

📚 Read Across America

We are currently celebrating Read Across America, an opportunity to inspire a love of reading in our students. Thank you to the media specialists, staff, and guest readers making this event engaging and memorable for our students.

📅 Trimester Two Ends March 20

As we approach the end of the second academic trimester, we recognize the hard work our students and staff have put in so far this year. Report cards will be available March 27 for Grades 1-8. For families of current kindergarten students, kindergarten conferences will take place in March and April. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss student progress and goals for the remainder of the year.

✏️ NJSLA Testing

Looking ahead, NJSLA testing will take place in May. These assessments provide valuable insights into student progress and help guide instructional planning. Specific testing dates are available on the district website, and schools will share additional details as the testing period approaches.

Thank you for your continued support in making Wyckoff Schools a great place for learning and growth.

Sincerely,

sig
