December 2025 Message from Dr. Postma

Dear Wyckoff Families,

I hope you and your families had a pleasant Thanksgiving weekend. As we enter December and look ahead to the close of Trimester 1 on December 5, I want to take a moment to reflect on the steady progress our students have made this fall. With report cards scheduled for release on December 12, this point in the year offers an opportunity to acknowledge the consistent efforts of our students, staff, and families in supporting teaching and learning across the district. Last month, we also recognized our Educational Support Professionals, whose daily work contributes meaningfully to the learning environment in each of our schools.

☃️ Winter Weather Updates

Weather-related notifications that affect the school schedule are sent by text and email and posted on the district website. Thank you for keeping your contact information current with your school office to receive timely updates.

🏛️ Board News

Last month, we welcomed Mr. Dominick Cicerchia as a new member of the Wyckoff Board of Education. We also thank outgoing members Mr. Tony Molina and Mr. Jim Schappert for their dedicated service to the district. Mr. Schappert was recently appointed to the Wyckoff Township Committee. The Board is currently holding interviews to fill the vacant seat.

🧩 Family & Community Programs

The Wyckoff PTO Coordinating Council continues its parent seminar series in partnership with NJ4S. The December 2 session, The Attendance Agenda – Every Day Counts, is followed by Raising Resilience: Empowering Parents, Strengthening Kids, will take place on February 3 at Eisenhower Middle School from 7–8 p.m. The Wyckoff Education Foundation will host Mahjong events on December 7 and 11. Registration is available on their website wefnj.org.

🎵 Athletics & Arts Spotlight

Our Eisenhower Middle School Girls Soccer Team captured the league championship this fall, showcasing exceptional teamwork and determination. Winter concerts are coming up across all schools, with students preparing performances in music, vocal, and instrumental programs. At EMS, basketball and cheerleading season begins in two weeks, with teams excited to hit the court and showcase their skills. We look forward to cheering on our student-athletes and celebrating the arts as the season progresses.

🌟 Student Highlights

Congratulations to EMS students Carl McDowell (7th grade) and Remy Frenkel (6th grade), who both earned 2nd place at the Regional Geography Bee in Tinton Falls, NJ. Congratulations to Lincoln School student Jordan Berger, pictured above with his fourth grade class, who won a New York Emmy Award for “Children Youth Under 12 News” for a feature story produced and aired by News 12 New Jersey. These achievements showcase the dedication, talent, and hard work of our students across academics and extracurricular activities.

I appreciate your involvement and support as we continue to make this school year a positive and engaging experience for every student.

Sincerely,

sig
