Parent Seminar: Bullying Breakthrough: Rights, Support, and Solutions

October 2025 Message from Dr. Postma

Dear Wyckoff Families,

Fall is a busy and exciting time across our schools. Students are fully engaged in learning, participating in classroom activities, and building connections with peers and teachers. Below are a few important updates, recent highlights, and upcoming events.

🎨 Wyckoff Education Foundation (WEF) Support

We extend our thanks to the Wyckoff Education Foundation and their donors for their generous $50,000 contribution to our schools. These funds will support innovative media center upgrades at each school. We also appreciate everyone who participated in last weekend’s Color Run fundraiser—an event that combined fun, fitness, and community spirit.

📅Parent Events

The Wyckoff PTO Coordinating Council is excited to offer a series of parent seminars over the course of this school year, in conjunction with NJ4S:

Oct 21: Bullying Breakthrough: Rights, Support, and Solutions

Dec 2: Raising Resilience: Empowering Parents, Strengthening Kids

Feb 3: The Attendance Agenda: Every Day Counts

Apr 14: The Digital Parent: Navigating Social Media for Your Kids

May 12: Summer Strong: Supporting Kids’ Mental Health

All presentations will be held at EMS from 7–8pm.

⚽ Fall Sports

Our fall athletic teams are in full swing! Students at EMS are participating in soccer and volleyball, demonstrating teamwork, dedication, and school spirit. The schedule of games can be accessed on the EMS website. Congratulations to all teams on winning their opening games last month.

📝 Assessment Updates

Individual student reports from the spring NJSLA assessments were mailed to families within the last few days. These reports, along with ongoing classroom data and iReady results, help guide instruction and support student growth throughout the year. The district’s assessment calendar, which also notes the NJSLA Field Test for all students in Grades 3–8 in late October/early November, is available on our website for your reference.

⏰ Attendance

Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Please make every effort to schedule appointments around the school calendar and avoid extending weekends or holidays. Every day in school matters, and your partnership helps students stay connected, on track, and ready to learn.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make this school year meaningful and engaging for every student.

Sincerely,

sig
