September 2025 Message from Dr. Postma

Dear Wyckoff Families,

The new school year is off to a strong start. From the first bell, our classrooms have been filled with energy, curiosity, and the joy of learning. I want to thank our staff, students, and families for making the opening days so positive and productive.

📖 Teaching, Learning, and School Climate

This fall, teachers are introducing updated math resources in grades K–8 that support problem-solving and engage students in meaningful mathematical thinking. Continued use of iReady provides teachers with real-time data to personalize instruction for every learner.

At the same time, we remain focused on creating safe, supportive school environments. Students are practicing beginning-of-year safety drills and engaging in activities that build classroom community, foster belonging, and strengthen social–emotional skills. Together, these efforts help ensure that every child feels secure, connected, and ready to learn.

📅Parent Events

We look forward to welcoming families at upcoming Back-to-School Nights across the district. Please see our website for dates and times. Dates for the Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) and other key events are also posted on our website. These gatherings are important opportunities to connect, learn more about school programs, and partner in supporting student success.

📝Standardized Assessment Scores and Dates

The results from the spring NJSLA for grades 3–8 reflect the dedication and growth of our students, under the expert direction of our faculty, and we look forward to building on their success in the year ahead. Individual student reports will arrive in the district by October 3, and will be mailed to families shortly thereafter. In addition, our annual Parental Notification of Standardized Assessments, which outlines the testing calendar for the year, is now available on the district website.

🏁Wyckoff Education Foundation (WEF) Color Run

Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Eisenhower Middle School. The WEF Color Run is open to all students in PreK through 8th grade—an event that brings our community together for fun, fitness, and school spirit. Proceeds benefit Wyckoff Public Schools. For more information about the WEF, please visit wefnj.org.

As we embark on the 2025–26 school year, thank you for your trust and partnership. I look forward to celebrating the learning, growth, and achievements of our students in the months ahead.

Sincerely,

sig
