Parent Seminar

Today is the last day of the second academic trimester. Report cards will be issued next Friday. The school board approved the tentative 2023-2024 school budget for submission to the Bergen County office of the New Jersey Department of Education. The annual public budget hearing, where planned revenues and appropriations will be presented, is scheduled for April 24, 2023 during the regular monthly school board meeting. The Wyckoff School District is an excellent place of learning and growth for our students due to the partnership of the larger Wyckoff community. The Wyckoff Historical Society recently provided items for the Washington School Centennial Week, and our fourth grade students across the district are taking field trips this month to the Zabriskie House. We appreciate the ongoing support and opportunities to collaborate with the township of Wyckoff.

EMS Club at Model UN Conference

The Eisenhower Middle School’s Model UN Club attended the Altitude International Model UN Conference in New York City this week with club advisors Ms. Moolji, Ms. Harrichand, and Ms. McMillan. The Model United Nations is a simulation of the UN General Assembly where students act as “ambassadors” from UN member states to debate current issues, make speeches, prepare draft resolutions, negotiate with allies and adversaries, and resolve conflicts.

Parent Workshops

The Connected Parent Series continues with the March 21st evening tour at Eisenhower Middle School of the STEM Lab and ETV Studio, and the March 29th Seminar on Nurturing your K-8 Child at Home and at School. To register for these events, and to see the full listing of seminars in the Connected Parent Series, visit our website at wyckoffps.org.

Students Visit Zabriskie House

Fourth grade field trips are underway across the WSD elementary schools to the Zabriskie House in Wyckoff. Built in c. 1740 and possibly the oldest house in Wyckoff, the Zabriskie House Museum is managed by the Wyckoff Historical Society. Students have the opportunity to tour the property and learn from the docent about the history of the families who lived in the house and of the times in which they lived.
