Sicomac Grade 1 STEM

This coming Monday marks the middle of the second trimester of the school year. Elementary student progress in reading and math was measured again this month in Grades 1-5 using the AIMSWeb benchmark assessments. These internal assessments are conducted in fall, winter, and spring, and the results are used to inform teachers on student progress and instructional needs going forward. Eisenhower Middle School students are issued progress reports at the midpoint of each trimester to indicate achievement levels in each subject area. These progress reports will be issued via the Genesis Parent Portal for middle school students on Friday, February 4th at the end of the school day.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2022-2023 school year opens next Friday, February 4. Enrollment for our free, full-day program is open to Wyckoff children who turn 5 by October 1st. Check out our registration page to get your documents ready and register.

Extended Day Learning Clubs Begin February 7

The Wyckoff School District is excited to offer a host of new extended day learning clubs for a limited time at each of our five schools. These support and enrichment programs, funded with Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) monies, will be run by WSD faculty and are designed to positively impact students’ academic development while supporting their social, emotional, and mental health needs. Elementary clubs will be held before school, and middle school clubs after school from February 7 through March 25, 2022. To view club offerings and to register, visit our website

Special Education Parent Presentation

The next Special Education Parent Meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, February 3rd at 7:00 p.m. There will be a presentation entitled “Successful Inclusion Supports” by WSD behaviorist Ms. Jaimee Rizzo, following a brief update by Ms. Diane Ciaramella, Director of Student Support Services. A link has been emailed by Ms. Karen Riley. If you did not receive the link and are interested in joining, you may contact Ms. Riley at [email protected] or 201-848-5690 ext. 3312.

WSD Winter Concerts a Success

Congratulations to WSD student musicians who performed in their school winter concerts held over the last two months. Elementary and middle school choral students were directed by Ms. Panzitta, Mr. Cosman, Ms. Tanis, Mr. Potosnak and Ms. Savery; and the middle school band and orchestra were conducted by Mr. Sasson and Mr. Salisbury. Students performed songs from a variety of genres and eras, and all performances were well-attended.

EMS Ski Club Takes to the Slopes

Middle school skiers took to the slopes this week for their first club session at Mountain Creek. Club advisor Ms. Strippoli and chaperones Ms. Bass and Mr. DeBlock accompanied club members in grades six through eight to learn and practice their skiing skills. The remaining two trips are scheduled for February 3rd and 10th.
