School Climate Survey Opens

School Climate Survey Opens
Posted on 10/29/2021

As School Safety Awareness/Anti-Bullying Month comes to an end, we would like to thank our staff, students, and families for your cooperative efforts in making our schools safe places to learn and work. We all play a part in creating a safe and welcoming school environment for our students.

School Climate Survey Opens Today

As part of our continuous effort to improve students’ education and prevent at–risk student behavior, we ask that staff, students and parents complete the voluntary New Jersey School Climate Survey (NJSCS). The NJSCS is a validated questionnaire designed to support local school climate and culture improvement activities. There is no mechanism for reporting survey data to the state; rather, the NJSCS materials are provided to help schools understand and improve local safe and supportive conditions for learning. The survey will close Friday, November 12th. Thank you for your participation.

EMS Fall Clubs and Sports

Several teachers at Eisenhower Middle School (EMS) will offer after school enrichment clubs for interested students beginning next week. This fall’s clubs include Creative Writing, Cross Country Running, Podcasting, Cooking and more. Congratulations to all of our middle school soccer players and coaches on a great season - both teams played in the semifinals this week, and the boys will advance to the finals in Franklin Lakes next week. Go Generals! Students interested in trying out for middle school basketball should submit their medical forms to the school nurse on Monday.

November 18th Parent Seminar

Next month, the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will host a seminar for all WSD parents titled “Gaining Ground: How to Help your Children Rally and Thrive.” The seminar will be led by our own team of school counselors and instructional coaches, who will provide tips for elementary and middle school parents on how to support their children academically and emotionally. This event will take place Thursday, November 18th at 9:15 a.m. in the Lincoln School Multi-Purpose Room.
