On Tuesday, the Wyckoff School District (WSD) welcomes our teachers back for a time of collaboration and preparation before their students arrive the following week. We look forward to a strong and successful school year.

Parent Portal Opens Today
Beginning today, August 27th, the Genesis Parent Portal is open for parents and guardians to access. This is where you can view your child’s teacher assignment and important school policies and procedures. New families to WSD should check your email for login information. Please contact your school’s main office with any questions.

Close Contact Update
Last week, we shared a brief Q & A from our Operations Plan to give you a snapshot of our protocols for the start of the school year, based on the latest health and safety guidelines in New Jersey's Road Forward. Last Friday, the state updated their definition of close contacts to "exclude students who were within 3 to 6 feet of an infected student where both the infected student and the exposed student(s) correctly and consistently wore well-fitting masks the entire time.” Students and staff will be wearing masks indoors per the state order (EO 251), so this update will significantly reduce the amount of individuals mandated to quarantine for any given case of COVID-19.

Staff Vaccination Mandate
This week, Governor Murphy issued a state order (EO 253), calling for all school personnel to be fully vaccinated by October 18th or to undergo regular testing. Our Operations Plan has been updated accordingly.

Full Day Kindergarten
WSD is proud to be launching Full Day Kindergarten this fall. Kindergarten orientation will be held at each school next Wednesday. Students and families will meet the teacher and learn about the curricular elements of our new full-day schedule. Please note: The first day of school, September 9th, is a minimum day for all WSD students, including kindergarteners. Full days begin on September 10th.

As we approach Labor Day weekend, it is a great time to reflect on the pleasures of summer and to set intentions for the coming season. We thank all of our WSD families for your continued support as we work to achieve our goals of preparing our students for the highest success.
