Director of the Summer Academies

This is Dr. Pepe's third year as the Director of the Summer Academies, a summer enrichment program run by the Wyckoff School District. She is responsible for the creation, management, and vision of the Summer Academies which enrolls upward of 250 students every summer. The program is open to Wyckoff residents and students from other school districts as well.

Dr. Pepe has been a teacher in the Wyckoff School District for twenty-nine years where she has taught multiple grade levels and is currently the Media Specialist at EMS. She is also an adjunct professor at FDU where she teaches Master level literacy classes.

Mrs. Gail Cordello

Mrs. Gail Cordello

Summer Academies Secretary

Mrs. Cordello has been teaching fifth grade at Sicomac School for the past 18 years. She loves learning alongside fifth graders, and she believes each student has unique gifts and strengths that can be discovered, developed, and celebrated. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Cordello likes to read, watch movies, enjoy New York City, and spend time visiting her son in Boston.

Ms. Nancy Williams

Ms. Nancy Williams

Nurse Nancy has been with the Wyckoff School District for 28+ years. Her original nursing background was in intercity emergency rooms & intensive care units. Nurse Nancy has college degrees in Biology, Education, Nursing & Certified School Nursing. She has experience with high school, junior high and elementary school students. Nurse Nancy enjoys her daily interactions with her students and staff at Sicomac School, where she has the opportunity to not only be a school nurse but also a health educator.

Summer Academies Teachers

Mrs. Lorraine Antonucci

Mrs. Lorraine Antonucci

This is Mrs. Antonucci's 14th year at Washington school where she is the school nurse and health educator. She has three daughters and lives in Oakland with her husband. Mrs Antonucci enjoys reading, playing tennis and being outdoors. She is excited to be involved for the first time with the summer academies teaching beginner sign language.

Mr. Angelo Bonavitacola

Mr. Angelo Bonavitacola

Mr. Bonavitacola has been a technology teacher at Eisenhower Middle School for the past 13 years. He teaches ETV / television production, computer coding and multimedia production. Prior to teaching he worked for MSNBC and Comcast.

Ms. Sarah Clooney

Ms. Sarah Clooney

This is Ms. Clooney's third year teaching at EMS where she teaches 7th grade math and algebra. She taught last year at the Summer Academies and had a blast! She wants to bring hery love of math and STEM to the Academies through classes such as the Beauty of Math and STEM Olympics. Mrs. Jessica DeBlasio

Mrs. Jessica DeBlasio

Mrs. DeBlasio has been a teacher since 1997, but has worked in the Wyckoff School District since 1999. She has taught 7th grade Language Arts as well grades 3rd, 4th, and currently 5th grade. Besides being a teacher, Mrs. DeBlasio is also a mother of two girls, Lauren and Kaitlyn, and a wife to Keith who happens to be a Westwood High School Social Studies teacher. In 1997, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dominican College. She majored in Elementary Education as well as English and minored in Spanish. Mrs. DeBlasio's hobbies include watching both of her girls play travel soccer, softball, and basketball. She also likes to travel to North Carolina to vacation during her summers off from school. Mrs. DeBlasio has been teaching for the Wyckoff Summer Academies for a number of years and continues to enjoy the children that participate in all of the classes that are offered. She looks forward to a great summer 2019 program.

Mr. Marc DeBlock

Mr. Marc DeBlock

Mr. DeBlock has been a teacher at Eisenhower Middle School for 20 years as both a science and STEM teacher. He has taught Robotics, Coding and various Engineering and Design classes. He also runs several technology based after-school clubs and has been teaching at the Summer Academies for many years. He enjoys sharing his passions with others, include photography, designing and building things and exploring the world of technology. When he is not teaching, Mr. DeBlock enjoys hiking, tinkering, watching his kids play sports and spending time with his family.

Miss Ashley Doctor

Miss Ashley Doctor

Miss Doctor is a new member to the Wyckoff School community where she teaches at both Lincoln and Coolidge schools. She graduated with her Master's in special education, and a Bachelor of Science in women's and gender studies from The College of New Jersey. Using hery background in social sciences, this summer she will be facilitating thought-provoking, and self-reflective classes.

Mr. Dan Dodd

Mr. Dan Dodd

Mr. Dodd has been the P.E teacher at Washington School for the past six years. He grew up in Oakland, NJ which gave him a lot of opportunities to try different sports growing up. He played multiple sports at Indian Hills High School and went on to play baseball at Rowan University. He has competed in Crossfit for the last three years at a the national level as well as Olympic Weightlifting. He spends most of his time hiking, working out, and finding new challenges to try.

Ms. Annemarie Dugan

Ms. Dugan and teaches Health and Physical Education at Eisenhower Middle School . She been teaching in Wyckoff for the past 13 years. One of her greatest joys is sharing her passion for healthful living with young people.

Miss Marissa Harrichand

Miss Marissa Harrichand

Miss Harrichand is currently a 7th grade social studies teacher at Eisenhower. She loves to work together with her students to create a student centered environment. She believes in engaging activities to help students reach their full potential. When she is not teaching, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.

Mrs. Amanda Harrington

Mrs. Harrington has been teaching in Wyckoff for five years. She has taught third, fourth, and fifth grade at Sicomac, as well as a variety of grades during her three years teaching summer school. She is excited to be back at the Wyckoff Summer Academies after taking off last year for her July wedding. Some of her favorite things are singing, green tea, the Harry Potter series, and teaching at the Summer Academies!

Mr. Ryan Harrington

Mr. Ryan Harrington

For five years Mr. Harrington has taught a STEM-based mathematics course at Memorial Middle School in Fair Lawn, NJ. The course is designed to use STEM concepts as a tool to identify connections between the math curriculum and real life. In his Summer Academies classes, he combines his teaching background with topics that he is truly passionate about and draws on the relationships between the STEM fields. He is excited to be coming back to the Summer Academies for his second year, and is looking forward to exploring the world of STEM and other fields.

Mrs. Kimberly Hentze

Mrs. Kimberly Hentze

Mrs. Hentze is a resource room teacher at Washington School. She graduated from The College of Saint Rose with a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood/Special Education. Mrs. Hentze also has a Master's Degree in School Counseling. Mrs. Hentze enjoys coming up with creative and interactive ways to engage students in learning! As a Orton-Gillingham teacher in training, Mrs. Hentze hopes to apply her learned strategies to help students become successful in reading! When not at school, Mrs. Hentze enjoys spending time with her husband and cat Mo. Mrs. Hentze looks forward to working with the students in Summer Academies again this year! Ms. Krystal Knyfd

Ms. Krystal Knyfd

Ms. Knyfd has been teaching in Wyckoff for the past two years. She studied at William Paterson and is a certified K-8 math & science teacher. She is currently working one her Master's degree in instruction through TCNJ's RTC program. She also teaches piano and has been a piano teacher for the past eight years.

Mr. Robert La Morte

Mr. Robert La Morte

Mr. La Morte is in his 24th year of education. He is currently one of three sixth grade math teachers and thoroughly enjoys his work with his students. Mr. La Morte started his career down in Tampa, Florida, returned to New Jersey where he grew up in River Edge. He currently resides in Hasbrouck Heights. Is extremely active in the education association at the local, county, state, and national level. He is extremely excited to be doing summer camp this year and getting back to his childhood enjoyment of Lego building and creating.

Ms. Levine is in her 24th year of teaching at Coolidge School! Her first seven years of teaching were in the 4th grade where she gained invaluable classroom experience. Since then she has been the Technology Specialist, watching and being part of a curriculum that is constantly changing and growing. In her spare time she loves electronics, reading, going to the theater, hiking and enjoying the beach whenever possible!

Mr. Scott Levy

Mr. Scott Levy

Mr. Levy has been an educator for twenty-three years and loves teaching. His most enjoyable experiences as a teacher have been instilling the love of reading, writing, and public speaking in his students. He sees loads of talent and promise in upcoming generation! Mr. Levy is dual-certified in Elementary Education and Secondary Education and has been fortunate to have worked with students of all ages.

Ms. Megan Mihalik

Ms. Megan Mihalik

This is Ms.Mihalik's first year participating in the Summer Academies! She is very excited to share her love of yoga, writing, and the outdoors with her students. Ms. Mihalik spends her summers teaching yoga, camping in the Adirondacks with her family, and reading her favorite books. When she travels, she also loves to write down stories from her day in a journal! She is excited to bring all of these passions to her Summer Academies classes!

Mrs. Courtney Morfing

Mrs. Courtney Morfing

Mrs. Morfing is currently a 6th grade science teacher at Eisenhower Middle School. She is a proud graduate of Clemson University and NYU. She loves being outside, running, crafts, and travel. She has lived in SC, NY, NJ and Switzerland. Mrs. Morfing currently lives on a farm in the Hudson Valley with her husband, her two year old daughter, a dog, and chickens.

This is Ms. Reid's first year teaching in Wyckoff where she is the art teacher at Washington School. She enjoys all things rainbow and loves the beach. When not soaking up some rays, she loves to put her creativity to the test with new art and projects to teach and excite kids.

Mr. Robert Rufo

Mr. Robert Rufo

Mr. Rufo has been teaching math and science in the Mahwah School district since 2000. Growing up in Mahwah, Mr. Rufo developed his love for science and mathematics attending the Mahwah School System. Mr. Rufo is a graduate of Fordham Universtiy and currently teachers fifth grade in the school he went to fifth grade in, The Joyce Kilmer School in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Mrs. Monique Sarfity

Mrs. Monique Sarfity

Mrs. Sarfity is a visual artist and art educator who has taught in the NJ public school system for 15 years. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fine arts from Parsons School of Design and a Master's Degree in Arr Education from Montclair State University. Mrs. Sarfity currently teaches at Eisenhower Middle School, but has experience creating innovative and engaging art lessons for students of all ages, from kindergarten through high school. Mrs. Sarfity also creates art on a professional level and regularly exhibits her work in galleries in the NYC area.

Mrs. Nicole Sottiriou

Mrs. Nicole Sottiriou

Mrs. Sottiriou has been teaching middle school Language Arts for for 7 years and has been enjoying every second of the summer academies for the past 2 years. She has a true passion for baking, especially when it comes to pies. Butterscotch Apple has to be her all time favorite, though her husband and brothers adore her peach cobbler pie. Mrs. Sottiriou loves learning and baking alongside her students in the summer academies. In her spare time, she also enjoys running her own cooking channel on YouTube, baking and cooking amazing meals for her husband (who she is determined to make really fat one day), reading voraciously, exercising, doing yoga, traveling, spending time with her family, and being an active member of her church.

Ms. Jennifer Streaser

Ms. Jennifer Streaser

Ms. Streaser is an in-class support teacher at Eisenhower Middle School. She received her Master's Degree and teaching certifications in elementary education and special education from Montclair State University. She graduated with her undergraduate degree in communication from Villanova University. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outside, running, yoga, traveling, reading, trying new food, and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Marisa Strippoli

Ms. Marisa Strippoli

Mrs. Strippoli has been teaching Italian in Wyckoff School district for the past 12 years. She holds a B.A in Economics/Italian from Boston University and a M.A in Educational Technology from NJCU. When not teaching, she practices Bikram yoga daily. Her lifetime knowledge of the language and culture extends past the classroom and has continued with various cooking classes. She will be teaching a course based on Italian regional specialties. Various cooking techniques will be learned as students take a culinary tour of Italy. Come explore and Buon Appetito!
