New Principal Named, Teacher to Play with American Symphony, Spring Musical Opens, Student Athletes to be Honored

Today marks the end of the second academic trimester of the school year. Report cards will be issued via Genesis on Friday, March 25, 2022 for students in grades 1 through 8. Kindergarten progress will be communicated to parents and guardians via in-person conferences held over the next two weeks. 

 

New EMS Principal Named for 2022-23 School Year

We are proud to announce that Mr. Brian Faehndrich was appointed Eisenhower Middle School (EMS) Principal for the 2022-2023 school year at the Wyckoff Board of Education meeting Monday. Mr. Faehndrich is currently an Assistant Principal at Wayne Valley High School, and also the school's Department Supervisor for Science and STEM. He has served as an administrator for a combined ten years in both Wayne and Westwood, and prior to that, was a biology teacher at Bergen County Technical Schools and a curriculum developer for the New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning (NJCTL). Mr. Faehndrich holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Columbia University, a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a second master's degree in Learning Design and Technology from Purdue University. We look forward to Mr. Faehndrich joining the WSD community on July 1. A meet and greet will be scheduled this spring.

 

WSD Teacher to Play at Carnegie Hall 

Kudos to Wyckoff elementary instrumental music teacher Eric Weidman who will play at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, March 24, 2022 with the American Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra, conducted by Leon Botstein, will be performing an evening of Duke Ellington music along with the Marcus Roberts Jazz Trio. Mr. Weidman will be playing bass clarinet. EMS Spring Musical Opens Thursday

Middle school performers take to the stage next week for "Into the Woods Jr." From cloaks to wolves and babies to shoes, this show is full of fun, exciting, and hilarious moments. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24 and Friday, March 25 at Eisenhower Middle School. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. $8 students, $10 adults. 

 

Student Athletes to be Honored by Township Committee

The EMS championship boys’ soccer team and championship girls’ basketball team will be honored next week by Mayor Boonstra and the Wyckoff Township Committee on March 22, 2022. The players, along with soccer Coach Cascio and basketball Coach Ciarlo, were recognized for their achievements at the November 2021 and March 2022 school board meetings respectively. Spring sports, including track, softball, and baseball will begin next month.
