Posted on 09/24/2021

Fall arrived this week, and a full range of classes and extracurricular activities are well underway in our schools.

Emergency Notification System Test

On Sunday evening, September 26, 2021, at 7:00pm, the Wyckoff School District will run a test of the School Messenger Emergency Notification System. Any parent or staff member that does not receive the test call should alert your school office on Monday so we can update your contact information accordingly. Please see the text opt-in flyer if you would like to also receive a text message.

Spotlight on Music

Our music programs have fully resumed, with several offerings for students beyond their general music classes. At our elementary schools, instrumental teachers Mr. Weidman and Mr. Vetrero held their annual "Band Demo," introducing the various instruments that our upper elementary students can choose to play. At the middle school, student musicians began full band rehearsals with Mr. Sasson this week, and will start auditions for the fall musical and chorale next week with Ms. Savery. Music Engineering with Mr. Salisbury is offered for those students interested in the technical aspects of music.

Safety Patrol

Our Student Safety Patrol Officers began work this week, greeting younger students and ushering them out of their cars and into the elementary schools each morning under the supervision of school officials. The fifth grade students involved in Safety Patrol demonstrate a high level of commitment and responsibility as leaders in their schools.
