New Jersey School Climate Survey

The New Jersey School Climate Survey (NJSCS) is a free resource designed exclusively for local use in supporting ongoing school improvement efforts. The NJSCS is based on the domains for school climate identified in the research literature. School districts are encouraged to use the NJSCS tools as an integral part of their continuous efforts to improve student education. Conducting a school climate survey on a regular basis will yield valuable information related to various aspects of your school, such as its:

Physical Environment
Teaching and Learning Capability
Morale in the School Community
Quality of Relationships
Level of Parental Support and Engagement
Safety Situation
Emotional Environment
Perception of Administration Support

The NJSCS includes validated questionnaires to support local school climate and culture improvement activities. There is no mechanism for reporting survey data to the state; rather, the NJSCS materials are provided to help schools understand and improve local safe and supportive conditions for learning.
