Ms. Kristin Caputo

Director of Summer Academies


Ms. Caputo has been teaching elementary & middle school students since 2001.  She has taught all grade levels k-8, but has a special love of connecting technology to all subjects.  Ms. Caputo has continued her quest for knowledge over the years by earning master's degrees in Educational Technology, Media & Library Science, and Educational Leadership & Administration. In addition to the traditional teaching roles Ms. Caputo has been a Technology Coach and Director of Elementary Education out of district before returning to Wyckoff in the summer of 2019.  Ms. Caputo feels at home back in Wyckoff and at Sicomac School. When not working she enjoys running, pilates, and traveling to new places with family and friends.   


Mrs. Gail Cordello

Mrs. Gail Cordello

Director of Summer Academies


Mrs. Cordello has been teaching fifth grade at Sicomac School for the past 18 years. She loves learning alongside fifth graders, and she believes each student has unique gifts and strengths that can be discovered, developed, and celebrated. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Cordello likes to read, watch movies, enjoy New York City, and spend time visiting her son in Boston.

Summer Academies Nurse


Nurse Nancy has been with the Wyckoff School District for 28+ years. Her original nursing background was in intercity emergency rooms & intensive care units. Nurse Nancy has college degrees in Biology, Education, Nursing & Certified School Nursing. She has experience with high school, junior high and elementary school students. Nurse Nancy enjoys her daily interactions with her students and staff at Sicomac School, where she has the opportunity to not only be a school nurse but also a health educator.

Mrs. Jessica DeBlasio

Mrs. Jessica DeBlasio


Mrs. DeBlasio has been a teacher since 1997, but has worked in the Wyckoff School District since 1999. She has taught 7th grade Language Arts as well grades 3rd, 4th, and currently 5th grade. Besides being a teacher, Mrs. DeBlasio is also a mother of two girls, Lauren and Kaitlyn, and a wife to Keith who happens to be a Westwood High School Social Studies teacher. In 1997, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dominican College. She majored in Elementary Education as well as English and minored in Spanish. Mrs. DeBlasio's hobbies include watching both of her girls play travel soccer, softball, and basketball. She also likes to travel to North Carolina to vacation during her summers off from school. Mrs. DeBlasio has been teaching for the Wyckoff Summer Academies for a number of years and continues to enjoy the children that participate in all of the classes that are offered. She looks forward to a great summer 2019 program.


Mr. Marc DeBlock

Mr. Marc DeBlock


Mr. DeBlock has been a teacher at Eisenhower Middle School for 20 years as both a science and STEM teacher. He has taught Robotics, Coding and various Engineering and Design classes. He also runs several technology based after-school clubs and has been teaching at the Summer Academies for many years. He enjoys sharing his passions with others, including photography, designing and building things and exploring the world of technology. When he is not teaching, Mr. DeBlock enjoys hiking, tinkering, watching his kids play sports and spending time with his family.

Miss Ashley Doctor

Miss Ashley Doctor


Miss Doctor is a new member to the Wyckoff School community where she teaches at both Lincoln and Coolidge schools. She graduated with her Master's in special education, and a Bachelor of Science in women's and gender studies from The College of New Jersey. Using her background in social sciences, this summer she will be facilitating thought-provoking, and self-reflective classes.


Mr. Dan Dodd

Mr. Dan Dodd


Mr. Dodd has been the P.E teacher at Washington School for the past six years. He grew up in Oakland, NJ which gave him a lot of opportunities to try different sports growing up. He played multiple sports at Indian Hills High School and went on to play baseball at Rowan University. He has competed in Crossfit for the last three years at the national level as well as Olympic Weightlifting. He spends most of his time hiking, working out, and finding new challenges to try.


Mrs. Heather Flanagan


Mrs. Flanagan has been a computer specialist at Washington School for the past 19 years. In addition to teaching computer skills, she is also a technology coach for teachers and a STEM integration specialist who incorporates Makerspace activities into the curriculum.  She enjoys teaching computers and STEM because the content is always changing and she loves learning new skills and sharing those skills with her students and colleagues. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Flanagan enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, crafting, creating, tending to her chickens, and baking.



Mrs. Jennifer Ingle


Mrs. Ingle has been teaching seventh grade Language Arts Literacy at Eisenhower Middle School for the past 10 years. She is a certified K-12 English Teacher as well as a certified Reading Specialist, and her teaching experiences throughout the years span all grade levels. Reading is her #1 hobby, and she enjoys sharing this passion with her students. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Ingle enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two-year-old daughter Madison. 


Ms. Krystal Knyfd

Ms. Krystal Knyfd


Ms. Knyfd has been teaching in Wyckoff for the past two years. She studied at William Paterson and is a certified K-8 math & science teacher. She is currently working one her Master's degree in instruction through TCNJ's RTC program. She also teaches piano and has been a piano teacher for the past eight years.


Mrs. Kelly LaCorte


Mrs. LaCorte has been a teacher at Coolidge School for 6 years. At Coolidge, she has worked with many different grade levels.  Mrs. LaCorte has a certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from Ramapo College, and throughout the school year, she enjoys helping both the students and teachers of Cooldige be calm and mindful. When she is not teaching, you can find Mrs. LaCorte reading novels, hiking, traveling to new places and spending time with her husband.


Mr. Robert La Morte


Mr. La Morte is in his 24th year of education. He is currently one of three sixth grade math teachers and thoroughly enjoys his work with his students. Mr. La Morte started his career down in Tampa, Florida, returned to New Jersey where he grew up in River Edge. He currently resides in Hasbrouck Heights. Is extremely active in the education association at the local, county, state, and national level. He is extremely excited to be doing summer camp this year and getting back to his childhood enjoyment of Lego building and creating.

Mrs. Kelly Lee


Mrs. Lee is a new 6th Grade Language Arts teacher at Eisenhower Middle School. She received her Master's Degree at Rutgers University in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Middle School Language Arts. She enjoys reading and writing all year around (even in the summer!) and hopes to instill the same joy in her students. Beyond the classroom, she is a freelance writer and amateur personal chef for her family. 


Ms. Megan Mihalik

Ms. Megan Mihalik


This is Ms. Mihalik's first year participating in the Summer Academies! She is very excited to share her love of yoga, writing, and the outdoors with her students. Ms. Mihalik spends her summers teaching yoga, camping in the Adirondacks with her family, and reading her favorite books. When she travels, she also loves to write down stories from her day in a journal! She is excited to bring all of these passions to her Summer Academies classes!


Ms. Melissa Miller


Ms. Miller has been a special education teacher at Lincoln School for the past 8 years. She is the co-director of the 5th grade talent show, and assists with acting and choreography of the 5th grade musical at Lincoln. Prior to becoming a teacher, Ms. Miller was a professional actress, singer, and dancer. In fact, her undergraduate degree is in Acting and Musical Theater! In her free time, Ms. Miller sings with New Jersey Choral Society,  is a licensed Zumba instructor, and performs in various professional and semi professional theater productions in the area. 


Ms. Amanda Reid

This is Ms. Reid's first year teaching in Wyckoff where she is the art teacher at Washington School. She enjoys all things rainbow and loves the beach. When not soaking up some rays, she loves to put her creativity to the test with new art and projects to teach and excite kids.


Ms. Jessica Sancilio


Ms. Sancilio is a teacher at Coolidge School. She has taught second through fifth grade and loves learning new things from every student she meets. Ms. Sancilio believes that all students are capable, creative, and unique and looks forward to meeting more students this summer! When she is not teaching, Ms. Sancilio loves crafting, reading, playing tennis, getting outside, and spending time with family. 


Mrs. Monique Sarfity

Mrs. Monique Sarfity


Mrs. Sarfity is a visual artist and art educator who has taught in the NJ public school system for 15 years. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fine arts from Parsons School of Design and a Master's Degree in Arr Education from Montclair State University. Mrs. Sarfity currently teaches at Eisenhower Middle School, but has experience creating innovative and engaging art lessons for students of all ages, from kindergarten through high school. Mrs. Sarfity also creates art on a professional level and regularly exhibits her work in galleries in the NYC area.



Mr. Michael Sasson


Mrs. Catherine Savery  

           

Catherine Savery is passionate about singing! She has been teaching voice lessons and choral music for the past 11 years.  Professionally, Mrs. Savery has sung musical theater, opera and oratorio around the country, and toured Sweden as a winner of the Jenny Lind Competition. Recently back from Montana, Mrs. Savery is excited to have easy access to Broadway once again, though she has a new-found love for hiking! She also enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, 7 year old son, and 1 year old Yorkie named Fred.


Mrs. Barbara Sharer


Mrs. Sharer is a third grade teacher at Sicomac School and has been teaching in the Wyckoff Schools for the past 11 years. She enjoys sharing her passions that allow each child’s creativity to shine. When not teaching, Mrs. Sharer enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, knitting, and repurposing furniture.


Mrs. Kimberly Simon


Mrs. Kimberly Simon is a seventh grade science and STEM teacher at Eisenhower Middle School. She loves teaching this age group and has been doing so for 15 years. She spends her free time painting, baking, and spending time outdoors with her family. Mrs. Simon lives in town and her husband, two sons that attend Coolidge, and two dogs.


Ms. Jennifer Streaser

Ms. Jennifer Streaser


Ms. Streaser is an in-class support teacher at Eisenhower Middle School. She received her Master's Degree and teaching certifications in elementary education and special education from Montclair State University. She graduated with her undergraduate degree in communication from Villanova University. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outside, running, yoga, traveling, reading, trying new food, and spending time with family and friends.


Ms. Marisa Strippoli

Ms. Marisa Strippoli


Mrs. Strippoli has been teaching Italian in Wyckoff School district for the past 12 years. She holds a B.A in Economics/Italian from Boston University and a M.A in Educational Technology from NJCU. When not teaching, she practices Bikram yoga daily. Her lifetime knowledge of the language and culture extends past the classroom and has continued with various cooking classes. She will be teaching a course based on Italian regional specialties. Various cooking techniques will be learned as students take a culinary tour of Italy. Come explore and Buon Appetito!


Mrs. Kelly Surgent


Kelly Surgent joined the Wyckoff family this past school year. She spent her first year in the district teaching kindergarten at Sicomac. Previously, she taught kindergarten for two years and was head coach of a middle school cross country team. The minds of young children inspire Kelly. She believes she learns just as much from her kindergarteners as they learn from her. When she isn't teaching, you can find Kelly on the beach, spending time with her family, or baking desserts.


Ms. Kayla Valinoti


Ms. Valinoti is a 6th grade Social Studies Teacher at Eisenhower Middle School. Ms. Valinoti studied History-Secondary Education at TCNJ. Ms. Valinoti is new to EMS and she is excited to be involved in Summer Academies! Ms. Valinoti is a cheerleading coach for Eisenhower and she wants to continue to be involved in clubs and activities with her students. In her free time, Ms. Valinoti likes spending time with family and friends, going to the beach and exploring new places.



Mr. Damian Villeneuve


Damien Villeneuve is multi-instrumentalist with a passion for music composition. Damien currently works as an elementary music educator for the Wyckoff District Board at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. He has many years of experience as an educator and performer all around the world. His studies have taken him to Boston (Berklee College of Music), Chicago (Chicago College of Performing Arts), and Toronto, Canada (University of Toronto). Once he received his education Degree, he taught in Kuwait, Latvia as well as the United Nations International School in New York City. Damien dives into all styles of music and enjoys curating curiosity for the arts in his lessons and classroom.
