Did you know ... ?

  • I am one of a few people (my age) still in Wyckoff who was born and raised here.
  • My maiden name is Lemmerman.
  • My dad owned a big farm, Lemmerman's Farm, which was located on Russell Ave.
  • My dad was born in the farm house on his family property; the house has since been knocked down and replaced.
  • Lemmerman's Pond is still there (although not pretty as it once was). If you look, you'll see a huge rock with a permanent plaque, which reads "Lemmerman's Pond".
  • Hundreds of kids, including me, ice-skated all winter on the pond.
  • We must have had much colder temperatures and a lot more snow when I was growing up because we spent day after day all winter sleigh-riding and ice-skating.
  • I attended Coolidge School (K-6), Lincoln School (7-8), and Ramapo High School (9-12).
  • I taught high school English and French in New Hampshire.
  • I taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades at Sicomac.
  • I taught 5th grade with two people who are now at EMS (Mr. Shean and Ms. Caputo).
  • I remember when Route 208 was a dirt road!
  • When I was a student at Coolidge School, we used to travel once a year to Washington School for a competitive, all-day Field Day.
  • Everyone rode a school bus.
  • I am an animal-lover. I grew up with dogs, cats, a rabbit, and a raccoon.
  • We presently have a dog named Jack. My daughter rescued him from a shelter 12 years ago; he is 14 and a big baby.
  • My husband teaches high school carpentry at a trade school in Yonkers.
  • Our daughter Jessica teaches 8th grade Language Arts in Boston.
  • Jessica had many of the great teachers who are still here at EMS.
  • Jess had one of the same French teachers whom I had when I was at Ramapo!
  • I have two sisters; I am "the baby" of the family.
  • I enjoy having students in French whom I taught when I was at Sicomac.
  • I had Mr. Hunt's son, Steven, in my first fifth grade.
  • TEACHING IS MY PASSION!
